2025 Chevy Blazer EV Engine
Compared to competing EV SUVs, the Blazer EV has a far wider range of powertrain combinations, making its portfolio more complex. Both model levels’ all-wheel drive versions are propelled by a pair of electric motors totaling 288 horsepower. Chevrolet Blazer EV MPG
We rated the Blazer EV RS at up to 103 MPGe in the city and 88 MPGe on the highway. Those numbers are for the all-wheel-drive RS; selecting the rear-wheel-drive variant lowers those estimates to 101 MPGe city and 85 MPGe highway. When we have a chance to test the Blazer EV, we’ll take it on a fuel-efficient interstate route at 75 mph and report back with test results and driving range observations.
Range, Charging, and Battery Life
The rear-wheel-drive RS model has the largest EPA range estimate in the lineup at 324 miles, but opting for the all-wheel-drive version reduces that estimate to 279 miles; The all-wheel drive LT is also stated to have a range of 279 miles. The EPA hasn’t rated the SS trim’s mileage, but Chevrolet claims an estimate of around 290 miles for this model. The Blazer EV can charge with a DC fast charger at up to 190 kW, adding about 78 miles of range in 10 minutes, according to Chevrolet.

Spherical air vents flank the instrument panel, and in RS and SS models, Chevrolet has used a two-tone black-and-red color scheme—but a more monochromatic design is available for those who don’t like the flash. Folding the rear seats down converts the 26 cubic-foot cargo compartment into a much bigger 60 cubic-foot room with a flat floor, making it easier to load heavier objects.

How’s the technology? There is definitely enough screen to work with. The Blazer is provided with a large 17.7-inch center display. It also features Google integration. The Google-powered maps look fantastic, or Google’s virtual assistant system can be utilized for a variety of personal and vehicle-related tasks.
Interestingly, the system does not include Apple CarPlay. While the Blazer EV’s entertainment system works nicely, iPhone owners will encounter a few challenges that would not exist if CarPlay was available. During our tests, our Blazer’s screen periodically froze or turned laggy. Similarly, the Bluetooth connection frequently failed. We’re hopeful that an upcoming over-the-air update will help fix this.
